Use Arrowhead Vines to Add Balance and Beauty to your Home!

The Syngonium Podophyllum, or Arrowhead Plant, is a remarkably effective and versatile easy care indoor plant.

Fast-growing, lush foliage is filled in with newer small, symmetrical arrows that are intermingled with large mature spade-like shaped leaves. The bright colors add light to dark spaces with some varieties combining dark green with bold white variegation.  Some varieties display subtler hues of lime or pink!  When placed on rigid furniture or against sharp corners, the soft, full Arrowhead Vine adds softness and movement.

Offer Lighting That Is Not Too dark, and Not Too Light

Although these plants are extremely low-light tolerant, they will grow faster and maintain their vibrant coloring and markings if grown in medium to bright indirect light. Be careful -- direct sun will scorch their leaves.

Only Provide Your Arrowhead the Water It Needs

During the growing season, keep the Arrowhead Vine’s soil moist, and avoid over-watering.  In the winter, allow these indoor plants to dry out partially between watering. If left dry for too long, the lower leaves will dry up and turn brown. If this happens, soak the soil and let the plant re-hydrate.

    Keep the Temperature Comfortable

Arrowhead Vines will grow in most household temperatures ranging from 60-80℉. They do not like the temps to drop below 50℉, so keep them away from drafts and doorways during the winter months.

    Maintain Moderate Humidity

Average household humidity of 30-50% is adequate for these indoor plants, but most houseplants benefit from humidity over 60%.  You can place a humidifier near your Arrowhead Vine.

For an even more profound balancing effect, display some of your Arrowhead Vines in hanging baskets and allow them to grow long.  You can easily propagate your Arrowhead Plant by cutting off the stems when the roots can be seen coming out of the stem’s nodes.  Place the cut stems in water, and watch them grow!

Surround yourself with the colors, textures, and naturally balanced structure of houseplants like syngonium and you will feel the tension slip away!
