The Pilea cadieri—named the Aluminum Plant for the bold silver coloration on its striking foliage—makes an impression with its leafy height and dense canopy of foliage. A great trick to keeping the leaves thick is to prune the plant back to half its size in the spring. Trimming will help keep the plant from getting leggy! The Aluminum Plant requires moist—but never soggy—soil and medium light. This plant is toxic if ingested. Keep away from pets and small children. It may also cause skin irritation.
